WPC/DS Rosie Fox
Rosie Fox's arrival in Sunhill caused quite a stir among her colleagues. Smart, athletic and attractive, she was popular among the men, which created jealousy among some of the women.
Before joining the relief she had completed an MA degree in Religious Studies at Cambridge University. This however other students at Hendon Police College resented her for this, and eventually a group three men locked her in a morgue for four hours. Rosie (played by Caroline Catz)made an official complaint, but was forced to drop it as no-one would back her up.
She then worked at a station in the West End of London for five years, before transfering to Sunhill.
At Sunhill, Rosie got on with most of her colleagues at first, apart from PC Eddie Santini (Michael Higgs) and WPC Vicky Hagen (Samantha Robson). Despite their differing opinions when it came to work though, Eddie and Rosie began to become quite close for a while, until Eddie pushed her too far. After, Rosie was furious, and their relationship went from bad to worse.
Most of the relief, apart from WDC Liz Rawton (Libby Davidson), a close friend of Rosie's, believed it was her fault, and eventually Rosie transfered to AMIP, the murder squad. During the time she spent with the AMIP squad, Rosie got promoted to Sergeant and became an established member of the team. She also began to have an affair with her married boss, DCI Richard Pallister (Jason O'Mara).
Nine months later, Rosie returned to Sunhill to investigate an arson attack, but quickly realised that Eddie was involved. Again, noone was prepared to back her up and Pallister ended their relationship as he thought she was obsessed with Eddie. After being kidnapped though, by a drug importer named Tim Sherman, she finally persuaded the rest of her team that she was telling the truth. She arrested Eddie for the murder of a witness.
Rosie then moved up north, out of London, to accept a new job. Ten months later she had to return though to appear as a witness in Eddie's trial, unaware that Sherman had hired a hitman to murder her, as she was also a witness in his trial. She was attacked in her hotel room, and her death was made to look like suicide: her wrists were cut and she had overdosed on pills and alcohol. Liz Rawton found the body, but only Eddie realised what had really happened to her.
