WARNING - This whole section contains Spoilers, as The Vice has not been screened in Oz. I apologise now if this spoils it for anyone, but basically you have been warned!
Soon after Caroline appeared in The Bill, she was cast as PC Cheryl Hutchins in The Vice.
The programme is about The Vice Unit's investigations in Soho, London. The main character is Inspector Pat Chappel (played by the excellent Ken Stott), who leads the small team of officers, including PC Cheryl Hutchins (Caroline Catz) and Sgt. Joe Robinson (David Harewood). In Series One there was also PC Dougie Raymond (Marc Warren) but after his departure PC Kirsty Morgan (Rosie Marcel) has joined the squad.
In my opinion the critics aren't exaggerating when they say that this is a gritty, and sometimes rather shocking, drama. It's pretty successful though, as the third series is just being shown in the UK, and whenever it's on there's so many reviews and articles about it's hard to keep track of them. It regularly gets over 8.5 million viewers.
The fourth series will be shot in August, and should be screened early next year (don't quot me on that!). I'm not 100% sure that Caroline will be appearing, alongside David Harewood and Rosie Marcel, especially considering her recnt good news. I would have thought it's likely though. The Vice just wouldn't be the same with out her as Cheryl. Ken Stott will be starring as usual.
