DEEP END : Part 4

Rosie Fox Eddie Santini Santini/Fox Storyline Cast and Ratings from The Bill
Eddie and Rosie are in the DI's office. Deakin's furious: at Rosie for losing control of the situation and at Eddie for going in without getting prior approval.
"Well there wasn't time," argues Ed.
Rosie takes the rap for Ed. "I really needed Eddie's help. I was trying to signal him...Look, all of this was my fault, not Eddie's. He was bailing me out. I lost control of the situation and made a mistake."
"Several, actually," Chris tells her.
"I learnt my lesson, Guv."
Liz decides to intervene. "She can cry off the meeting. There's no real harm done."
"I'm not sure DI Hadfield would see it like that," he mutters.
"Eddie and Rosie were asked to start the process of reconciliation. That's more or less what they've done." The telephone rings. DI Hadfield wants a word with Chris. He sends Liz down to meet him, before dismissing Rosie and Eddie.

"They look pretty tight," comments Tony, as Rosie and Eddie walk into the canteen.
"It's only a matter of time now," Dave tells him.
"Vicky doesn't seem to like it," remarks Debs. "She hasn't had a good word to say about Rosie."
"That's because she's had her eye on Eddie since the day she walked in here!" says Dave. (This is the first I've heard of it. If anyone, I would have thought it would have been Debs and Ed, before Rosebud arrived!)
"I hadn't noticed. I think they make a really nice couple," says Polly, indicating Ed and Rosie, as they go and sit down.

"I'd prefer to be pulled out right now. I've had enough of Clive to last me a lifetime."
"Don't wind yourself up," Ed tells her.
"I should have listened to you in the first place."
"True," he smiles. "Rosie, you did really well. If we weren't off the op, everyone would be pinning medals on your chest."
"I let my brain go to sleep."
"First time for everything."
"It'd be a relief to get back to uniform."
"Yeah, you come out with me. I'll show you the sights of Sunhill!"
"I think I'm going to die of excitement!" DI Deakin and Liz come over to meet them. DI Hadfield's persuaded the senior officers that they need Rosie to got through with the meeting, as she's in too deep to pull out without warning Ruzhkov off. "What do they want me to do?"
"Basically wire you up, send you in to meet Ruzhkov as planned. See if we can get him to incriminate himself."

Liz and a SERCs officer finish wiring Rosie up at the briefing. Everything's ready: Rosie knows exactly what's she has to do and everything else is sorted.
"Is your mike working?" Ed asks as they walk out to the cars in the yard.
"Tested it twice."
"You look fantastic!"
"Thanks Ed." She puts her arm round him.
"Right show time!" Deakin tells everyone.
"Where to Miss?" Looks like Rod's acting as her taxi driver.
"Home would be nice!" she tells him. Eddie just watches her from a distance.
